This seminar will:

-       Orient you to the RVNAhealth’s Parkinson’s Center interdisciplinary team and resources

-       Establish some performance baselines

-       Educate about the disease progression

-       Review best treatment strategies for Parkinson’s Symptoms

-       Allow you to ask questions to the experts in each field

 

Presenters include the interdisciplinary team:

-       Physical Therapists

-       Occupational Therapists

-       Speech Therapists

-       Nurses

-       Dietician

-       Social worker

-       Music Therapists

-       Chaplain

-       Diagnosis

-       Motor and Non-Motor Symptoms

-       Medications and other treatments

-       Exercise

-       Balance and Walking

-       Tremor

-       Nutrition

-       Sleep Hygiene

-       Mental Health

-       Pelvic Health

-       Research and Clinical Trials

-       Cognition

-       Speaking and Swallowing

 

This course is offered quarterly (in-person and via zoom) and recommended annually to re-measure baselines and educate community members of any changes in literature or medical advances. This also allows veteran program members to interact with new members as a source of support and encouragement.
